Bloomingtales

Sometimes if you stick with something long enough, believe in yourself and stay the course, you may just find yourself living out part of your dream. When I started this blog nearly six years ago, I didn’t realize what it could become and where it could take me. While it has not become a thriving business, it has become part of my community’s vernacular, a way that I identify myself, and now a promotional platform for companies and products that I believe in. Thus it was truly an enormous honor when Kathy Suto, the general manager of Bloomingdales in Century City, asked me if I would agree to appear in a promotional video that would launch a brand new campaign for Bloomingdales. Kathy informed me that she had submitted my social media as well as links to my websites and the company chose me to do the video!

They were looking for someone fifty plus, with a Southern California aesthetic. I was elated, ecstatic and excited. What an enormous opportunity for me and what fun it would be to do it at the 59th Street flagship store in NYC! We filmed the video last Friday. I was wined, dined, pampered, gifted and treated like royalty. It was a very special two days, culminating in a lengthy interview which included a special guest appearance by Serena and my friend and personal stylist, Nima Ghassemian. Nima and I scoured designer departments and tried several looks; in the end, we decided on this fun and flirty dress by Parker. We both felt that it presented a Southern Californian vibe, and pairing it with my tried and true gold Gucci sandals, and my Dior saddlebag completed the look.

A true highlight for me, though, was having Serena beside me singing the praises of Bloomingdales, specifically our local Century City Bloomies.

This is not the first time that I have written about Bloomingdales. If you recall, I wrote a love letter about the store here. For me, there is no other place to shop, and that was indeed the focus of my “Bloomingtales.”

I am told that the video is being edited and will soon be available for viewing on both the Bloomingdales website as well as their social media. I promise that you will be the first to know when that happens. In the meantime, if you are looking for a “store like no other,” look no further than your local Bloomies. And if you live in the LA area be sure to visit Bloomies Century City… tell them Lesley sent you!
