The invitation reads “business attire,” but it’s a charity dinner. You have exhausted your conservative black dresses and want something a little more fun to wear, yet remain tasteful and appropriate. Enter the pantsuit. I will admit that I am not a pantsuit kind of gal. I don’t own many, currently only two, simply because they don’t fit into my lifestyle. This one by The Row was purchased so long ago, that I am tempted to call it vintage. I hung onto it, and happily so, since hunter green is a hot color this winter. I added this wonderful colored blouse by Equipment, and the suit took on a whole new character. The yellow-gold color and subtle flashes of silver and grey work well with the hunter green of the suit. Keeping the jacket buttoned adds definition and shape at the waist.
After trying silver and light grey, I decided to go with a black pump to keep things quiet but elegant. By donning a black shoe I could match the handbag easily, since a small black handbag is a must-have in every closet.
The next time you are looking for something to wear for a night out, reconsider the pantsuit. It’s feminine, chic and won’t let you down.
I’m like you, I don’t have many of these, but they are fabulous. Especially with that pop of yellow!! That’s magnificent!!
XOXO
