Success with the Dress

Success with the Dress

I literally talked myself into this dress. I fell in love with this Cabi dress after seeing it on the model in the look book. However, the model is probably 5’10, and I am barely 5’4. The dress, which comes without a belt just hung on me, and looked nothing like it did on the model. Here is an example of how to work with a dress and style it so that it comes alive on your body. This red belt created a waistline and added a little pop of color to an otherwise quiet-looking dress. I am obsessed with this grey sweater coat from Scoop NYC. Their line is both well made and well priced, and if you shop when they have their Friends and Family 25% discount, it is a true score! Adding these heels which pick up the cobalt and purple in the dress, and my Chanel “investment” clutch, are the finishing touches.

The moral of this story is, don’t judge a dress by the way it looks on the model or its hanger.
