Halloween Ghost Cookies

These ghost cookies are proof that even hearts can have a hauntingly sweet side!

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup almond flour

¾ tsp fine sea salt

1 cup unsalted butter

⅔ cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 egg

Zest of 1 lemon

Powdered sugar for dusting

Grape jam

Orange and black sprinkles as garnish

Directions:

Method:

1️⃣ sift together all-purpose flour, almond flour, and salt.

2️⃣ Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. 

Add the egg. Beat again. 

Min in vanilla extract and  lemon zest .

3️⃣ Add the dry ingredients to the mixing bowl. 

4️⃣ Shape dough into a disk, wrap, and chill 30–60 min. Dough will store in freezer for 3 months. 

5️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 

6️⃣ Roll dough to ¼-inch thick. Use a heart-shaped cutter, then cut each heart in half.

Cut out the eyes with the small end of a piping tip; for the mouth, use the larger opening.

7️⃣ Bake 10-12 minutes until golden.

8️⃣ Cool on a wire rack.

9️⃣ Dust tops with powdered sugar, spread jam, and sandwich together.

Garnish with the sprinkles
