7 Best Serums

Serum-dipity

I have always found the use of facial serums to be one of the most daunting parts of my beauty regimen. There are so many products out there on the market that claim to do so much, that it can overwhelm even the most well versed of the beauty-obsessed. I seem to change my serums often, depending on the season and condition of my skin. At this exact moment, here are my absolute faves!

La Mer The Treatment Lotion:  I use this daily. This is NOT a serum. It preps your skin for the serum and what’s to follow. An essence or lotion essentially preps your skin by driving moisture deep into the epidermis thereby enabling the serum and cream to better penetrate.

Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Transformation Gel and Sunday Riley Night OilI usually alternate these two serums nightly. Ole Henriksen’s Night Gel contains alpha hydroxy acid, while Sunday Riley’s Night Oil contains retinol. Because they are both active serums, I do not combine them. Depending on the condition of my skin, I may use the Sunday Riley Night Oil on its own. On those nights when my skin feels overly dry, I use my night cream over the night oil. I always use a night cream over Ole Henriksen’s Night Gel

Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Infusion De Rose Nourishing Oil: I have found many wonderful uses for this multipurpose oil. I use it right after the treatment lotion and when I feel particularly dry, I combine it with my tinted moisturizer. I use it daily and nightly, on my cuticles and sometimes I will add it to the ends of my hair. It absorbs quickly and has a wonderful rose fragrance. I am addicted to this oil, and it smells great!

Caudalie Resveratrol Lift and Firm Serum: True to its title, this serum really does lift and firm. The minute I apply it I can feel it start to work. Its nutty fragrance is an extra bonus. I won’t go a day without this one!

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum: This cult serum is a favorite of many a beauty blogger. I have been using it consistently for over a year now, which for me, is an eternity. Its citrus smell is addictive, and it wakes up my skin every morning. It leaves it feeling moisturized and ready for my Caudalie serum. A little goes a long way.

Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Repair Eye Serum: I always use an eye serum before I apply eye cream. This one is effective and priced just right. I love it!
